On Friday, September 28 the Quinter High School football team traveled to Sharon Springs to take on the Wallace County Wildcats in their second district contest. The Bulldogs lost to the Wildcats 0-48.
The Bulldogs started the game kicking off the ball. In a defensive battle, the Bulldogs held the Wildcats to] six points in the first quarter, leaving the score trailing 0-6. In the second quarter, the Wildcats scored three touchdowns and two, two point conversions against the Bulldogs’ defense. Heading into halftime, the Wildcats led 28-0. In the third quarter the Bulldogs’ defense let the Wildcats again score three touchdowns and two, two point conversions, ending the game at 48-0.
“I thought we did a good job at keeping the ball in motion. However, one thing our line could work on during this week is blocking,” commented lineman Carson Selensky.
The Bulldogs will be in action again on Friday, October 5. The Bulldogs will take on the Wheatland/Grinnell Thunderhawks for Homecoming. Kick off starts at 7:00 p.m., following the Homecoming Crowning Ceremony at 6:15 p.m.
