The Quinter Junior High boys basketball team is hard at work preparing for the upcoming season, looking to continue the success experienced in boys’ basketball the last couple of years. After football came to an end, basketball practice began on October 15.
“I’m really looking forward to this season. I think if we all work together we are going to have a really successful season,” stated Trevor Kaiser.
Last year, the boys had a very successful season finishing 13-3, and placing second in the NWKL tournament, losing a close game to Hoxie in overtime.This year, the boy’s team features eight returning eighth graders, as well as nine seventh graders. Also returning are head coach Mr. Brian Roesch and assistant Mr. Ed Mense.
“Coach Mense and I are looking forward to a fun basketball season. The boys are working extremely hard, developing a great team chemistry,” commented Coach Roesch.
The QJH Bulldog basketball team will face the Rawlins Co. Buffaloes at home on Thursday, November 1. The B-team boys will begin at 4:30 p.m., while the A-team boys will follow the A-team girls’ game.
