On Thursday, November 1, the Quinter Junior High boys’ basketball team competed at home against Rawlins County. The A-team Bulldogs won 35-17. The B-team boys won 40-22. C team lost with
In the first quarter of the A-team team game the Bulldogs scored six points while holding Rawlins County scoreless. Trevor Kaiser led the Bulldogs in scoring with a field goal and two free throws. In the second quarter the Bulldogs let the Buffaloes score a total of seven points while only scoring five points. Preston Havlas lead the scoring with two free throws and a three point shot. At the end of the half the Bulldogs led 11-7.
Coming out at after half time the Bulldogs held the Buffaloes to four points. The Bulldogs came out strong to build their lead, scoring 16 more points. In the last quarter of the game the Bulldogs outscored the Buffaloes again 8-6.
In the beginning of the B-team game, the Bulldogs started out strong scoring 15 points while holding the Buffaloes to only two. Bradley Bogert scored eight points for the Bulldogs. In the second quarter the Buffaloes beat the Bulldogs’ defense and added 10 while holding the Bulldogs to two. The Bulldogs still maintained a 17-12 halftime lead. Coming out after the half, the Bulldogs came out strong scoring 10 while only letting the Buffaloes scoring five. In the last quarter of the game, the Bulldogs finished the game with 13 more points and held the Buffaloes to five.
The C team played one quarter, the Bulldogs scored four while letting the Buffaloes score 10.
“We need to work on our layups. We worked pretty good together, our defense and offense was well and we could improve our press,” commented Zayne Beckner.
The Bulldogs play the Dighton Hornets at home beginning at 4:30 p.m. with the B-team on Thursday, November 8. Come support the Junior High Basketball team.
