What is expected of you?
- RESPECT YOUR CLASSMATES, YOURSELF, AND YOUR TEACHERS
-Avoid talking out of turn or when the instructor is talking.
-Do not use negative language in the classroom. This includes swearing, put-downs,
and crude remarks. Inappropriate language and/or bullying of any kind will not be tolerated, and consequences will be enforced.
- COME TO CLASS PREPARED TO WORK
-Unless otherwise instructed, you will need for class everyday:
1) textbook
2) pen/pencil
3) STURDY spiral notebook for journaling
4) colored pencils
DON’T bring pop, food, or candy to class.
- FOLLOW ALL DIRECTIONS AND RULES AS GIVEN
-This includes those given both in the classroom and in the student handbook. This includes the
cell phone use and okay card policies.
Students not upholding the expectations listed above will be dealt with on an individual basis with consequences including after-school detention, a conference with parent(s)/guardian(s), and/or a conference with school administration.
OTHER CLASS POLICIES:
Assignments/Make-up work/Late work
Assignments are due at the beginning of class unless instructed otherwise. You will have a journaling assignment every day, which will be listed on the board. If you miss class, it is your responsibility to find out what you missed and get the assignment. Time given to complete the assignment will be determined by the teacher, and if you fail to get the work done by the assigned time, the assignment will be considered late. Assignments will be posted in the classroom for your convenience. ALWAYS check with the teacher to confirm the assignment in the event it changes.
Late work will be recorded as a zero in the grade book and on Power School until it is handed in to the teacher, at which time the percent of deduction will be assessed (we will follow the handbook policy for late work). It is your responsibility to keep track of your grade; if you have questions, come see me before or after class/school. Semester grades will depend on the final exam grade (see also the Opt Out policy in the handbook).

Grading Scale
100-93 A; 92-90 A-; 89-87 B+; 86-83 B; 82-80 B- an so on…
Attitude and participation may also be used by the teacher in determining borderline grades.
