Quinter Cross Country Competes at NWKL in Hoxie

On Tuesday, October 2, the combined Wheatland/Grinnell and Quinter cross country team traveled to Hoxie to compete. Five runners competed for Quinter, two medaled.

On the men's varsity side Oura Chester placed 20th out of 52.  He ran a time of 21:20, leading the Bulldogs. Coming close behind him was freshman Eli Gruenbacher with a time of 21:42.  Senior Jonathan Jacka came in 27th place in 22:20. Sophomore Bailey Watts ran a time of 23:47. Watts improved his time from last year on the same course where he ran 25:23.  

“I ran super hard, and was really happy with my PR from last year, I can't wait to keep improving as a team and individually,” commented Watts.

The Quinter and Wheatland/Grinnell teams compete again in Grainfield at the Wheatland meet beginning at 3:00 on Thursday, October 11.  This meet will mark the final regular season meet of the year.
